A man has been arrested on Thursday in Uttar Pradesh's Maharajganj district for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl, according to local law enforcement.

The Superintendent of Police, Somendra Meena, reported that the incident took place in the morning when the young victim left her home to attend to a nature call. Allegedly, the 22-year-old neighbor lured her to his residence under false pretenses, committing the crime shortly thereafter.

Upon learning of the incident, the girl's family filed a complaint with the police, resulting in the swift arrest and jailing of the suspect. The victim is undergoing a medical examination as investigations continue.
