In a heartbreaking turn of events, Montreal resident Luciano Frattolin has been charged with the murder of his 9-year-old daughter, Melina. The young girl's body was discovered in a wooded pond in upstate New York, following allegations by her father that she had been abducted during their vacation.
While Frattolin initially claimed his daughter was taken by unknown males, New York State Police found discrepancies in his account of the events. Surveillance footage contradicted his statements, revealing that he and Melina were seen together in Saratoga Springs shortly before his emergency call.
Authorities believe the tragic incident occurred between Melina's phone call with her mother and Frattolin's report to the police. The child's body was found concealed under a log approximately 30 miles north of Lake George. An autopsy has been scheduled as the investigation continues.
