Dramatic Arrest: E-rickshaw Driver Accused of Rape Injured in Police Encounter

An e-rickshaw driver, accused of raping a minor girl, was arrested after a police encounter in which he sustained injuries, officials reported on Tuesday.

Arun, 30, was identified as the suspect in the case, accused of assaulting the teenager on May 28. The incident occurred while she was en route to coaching classes.

The arrest followed a shootout when Arun, on a bike near Bhaguwala, fired at officers. He was apprehended with a gunshot wound and taken to the hospital. Legal proceedings against him are ongoing.
