A tragic incident unfolded in Najibabad, where an Army jawan named Amit Sagar was allegedly strangled to death by his live-in partner, Mamta. The police revealed details of the case on Friday.
Amit Sagar, who was reportedly in a live-in relationship with the accused for three years, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital in critical condition on July 15. The post-mortem confirmed death by strangulation, leading to Mamta's arrest on charges of murder following a complaint by Sagar's mother.
The accused claimed that Sagar frequently abused her after consuming alcohol, prompting her actions in a bid to be free from the tumultuous relationship. A case has been registered and investigations continue into this grim episode.
