A 65-year-old retired Army jawan, Ramdayal Kushwaha, was fatally beaten after a dispute over land erupted in Fatehpur village, Rudrapur, on Monday, as confirmed by local police.

Kushwaha, who objected to neighbor Vijay Bind driving his car on Kushwaha's land, sparked an argument that escalated. Police stated that Vijay and others assaulted Ramdayal, then fled the scene. Despite being rushed to a hospital, Kushwaha was pronounced dead by doctors.

Authorities have filed a case, with the deceased's body sent for post-mortem. Ongoing investigations aim to uncover further details, according to Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Arvind Kumar Verma.
