Delhi Assembly Goes Digital: A New Era for Legislative Proceedings

The Delhi Assembly is transitioning to a paperless system starting from its Monsoon session on August 4. MLAs must now submit issues for Special Mention via the National e-Vidhan portal. The session, led by Speaker Vijender Gupta, may extend beyond August 8, and strict adherence to protocol is mandated.

The Delhi Assembly is embracing the digital age by moving to a completely paperless system. Starting from the Monsoon session on August 4, MLAs are required to submit their notices for Special Mention exclusively through the National e-Vidhan (NeVA) portal, according to officials.

This change accompanies the third session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly, with sittings scheduled from August 4 to 8 under the guidance of Speaker Vijender Gupta. The schedule, however, remains flexible for extension if needed, and each session will commence at 2 pm.

In a bid to streamline legislative processes, any member wishing to raise matters under Rule 280 must file their notices via NeVA by 5 pm the previous day. This also includes submissions of Questions and Resolutions. Technical support for online submissions is available at NeVA Sewa Kendra.
