Forgery Ring Busted: Bangladeshis Arrested with Fake Documents

Indian authorities have arrested two Bangladeshi nationals accused of residing in the country using forged identity documents, an official reported on Wednesday. A 28-year-old woman was apprehended in Kolkata's Golf Green area by Park Street Police Station officers.

Additionally, another individual was detained in Canning, South 24 Parganas, for allegedly living in India for up to 16 years with fraudulent identification. The arrests highlight the ongoing issue of forgery and illegal residency.

Officials recovered multiple Bangladeshi passports and Indian ID documents, such as Aadhaar and voter IDs. As investigations deepen, authorities aim to uncover entry methods and document procurement processes for the South 24 Parganas detainee, originally from Bangladesh's Satkhira district.
