During his two-day tour, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) Director General Amrit Mohan Prasad conducted a comprehensive review of the security framework along the India-Bhutan border in Assam, according to an official Friday statement.
Prasad underlined the importance of integrating modern technology with border management strategies. Visiting the 31st Battalion at Gossaigaon, Kokrajhar district, he paid homage at the martyr memorial and examined the force's readiness. He interacted with personnel about their challenges and offered solutions.
Continuing his visit, Prasad reviewed operations at the 15th Battalion in Kajalgaon and the Sector Headquarters in Bongaigaon. He held a dialogue with officers and troops, hearing their issues and emphasizing fitness, sports, and technological advancements. A meeting with the Inspector General included discussions on improving SSB and rural border area development initiatives.
