The Rashtrapati Bhavan has instructed West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant to investigate claims made by the family of a deceased RG Kar Hospital doctor who has been receiving threats to their safety.
The doctor's father reached out thrice via email to the President of India on August 10, 11, and 12, expressing severe concerns over the danger they are facing. In his correspondence, he mentioned their desperate situation, seeking an urgent reply.
On August 14, the Rashtrapati Bhavan forwarded the father's emails to the chief secretary, emphasizing the need for a prompt response. Along with the forwarding, Under Secretary Gautam Kumar advised the petitioner to engage directly with the chief secretary for updates. The family hopes for swift action.
