Chef's Arrest Unveils Links to Jihadi Propaganda

A 42-year-old chef from Dharmavaram was arrested for allegedly being part of WhatsApp groups linked to Pakistan-based terrorist organizations. Sheik Kothwal Noor Mohammad faces charges under various acts for possessing jihadi propaganda. The arrest followed a raid at his residence where police confiscated incriminating materials.

A 42-year-old chef from Dharmavaram, identified as Sheik Kothwal Noor Mohammad, has been placed in judicial custody for two weeks following his arrest for alleged associations with Pakistan-based terrorist organizations via WhatsApp, local police reported.

Authorities acted on intelligence from the Counter-Intelligence Cell, conducting a raid at Mohammad's residence where they found a mobile phone and literature deemed to contain jihadi propaganda. These items have been sent for forensic analysis.

District Superintendent of Police V Ratna emphasized the importance of surveillance in countering terrorist ideologies and confirmed that a case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967.
