The decision was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge Parveen Singh, who cast significant doubt on the credibility of the testimony and investigation conducted by the Dayalpur police station.

According to the prosecution, Akil Ahmed, Rahees Khan, and Irshad were allegedly part of a violent mob that set fire to vehicles and properties on February 25, 2020. However, Judge Singh's order highlighted contradictions in the police witnesses' accounts and flagged potential manipulation of the case diary.

The judge criticized the investigation for lacking evidence and raised concerns about the manner in which the accused were arrested. The court noted the absence of crucial information in the chargesheet regarding a burnt Hero Honda showroom, questioning why it wasn't investigated further, despite being central to the FIR.
