Justice B Sudershan Reddy, a retired judge of India's Supreme Court, has been selected as the vice-presidential candidate for the INDIA bloc. Reddy's legal journey began as a Civil and Constitutional advocate in the Andhra Pradesh High Court. His career achievements include serving as Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court and the first Lokayukta of Goa.

Known for his deep understanding of legal matters, Reddy was described as a 'son of the soil' by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, who urged regional political parties to back his candidacy. Born in Rangareddy District's Akula Mylaram village, Reddy pursued his education in Hyderabad, obtaining a law degree from Osmania University.

Having held significant responsibilities like being a Government Pleader, Additional Standing Counsel, and a President of the Andhra Pradesh High Court Advocates Association, Reddy's tenure on India's Supreme Court concluded in 2011. His candidacy contrasts with that of the NDA's CP Radhakrishnan in the upcoming election to replace the resigned Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar.
