A routine scooter-riding lesson turned deadly for a young couple in Anandapur. The bodies of Ronita Baidya and Rohit Agarwal were retrieved from a canal on Tuesday, after they were reported missing a day earlier.
Police investigations revealed the pair had an argument near the canal, which led to a chase resulting in Rohit falling into the water, with Ronita jumping in after him. Both tragically drowned due to strong currents.
The incident, according to authorities, appears to be accidental following an emotional altercation. A post-mortem examination is pending to determine the official cause of death.
