Jai Adivasi Kendriya Parishad president Niranjana Toppo has raised allegations of conspiracy, claiming that Hansda's death was, in fact, a murder. A candlelight march has been organized in Ranchi to voice these concerns and call for a transparent investigation into the killing.

The march, scheduled for today, seeks to underscore the demand for justice, with plans for a subsequent protest directed at the Raj Bhavan on August 23. The police narrative states that Hansda was shot after he attempted to flee while under custody, having allegedly seized a firearm from an officer.
