Senior YSRCP leader Botcha Satyanarayana has accused Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu of deceiving the public regarding the privatisation of the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP). He asserted that Naidu's acceptance of a Rs 14,000 crore package effectively endorsed the Centre's privatisation policy.
Satyanarayana criticized Naidu for allegedly failing to address the issue of VSP during his visits to Delhi, claiming this highlighted the leader's support for privatisation. The YSRCP strongly opposes the move and plans to challenge it at various platforms while also criticizing Naidu's overall governance.
On the contrary, Naidu had previously promised to strengthen VSP by emphasizing its vast 20,000-acre land bank, which, he pointed out, was unmatched by any other steel plant in India. Meanwhile, the TDP has yet to formally respond to these allegations.
