Tragic Death Sparks Dowry-Related Murder Allegations

A 20-year-old woman, Priyanka, has died under suspicious circumstances in a local village, raising allegations of dowry-related murder. Her family accuses her in-laws of killing her over demands for additional gold ornaments despite the dowry already given at marriage.

According to Inspector Ramashankar Rai, Priyanka's father, N Tiwari, claimed that on Monday evening, Priyanka's brother-in-law, Atul, brought her back to her marital home. The family was later informed that Priyanka had died from a snake bite. She was taken to the district hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival.

The police have sent Priyanka's body for post-mortem examination and are awaiting results. A formal complaint has been lodged by her father against her husband Shyamu and other in-laws, accusing them of murder. An FIR will be registered following the post-mortem report, and investigations are currently underway.
