Maoists have abducted and executed a 25-year-old man, Devendra Yadav, in Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district, suspecting him to be a police informer, reports revealed on Thursday.

Yadav, who was taken on Tuesday night, was discovered dead in the Chauria forests near Lanji police station. The area bore banners and pamphlets from Maoists, accusing the government of employing youths as informers, local sources reported.

The Maoists charged that such recruitment tactics are wrecking the future of young people. They threatened that informers and the administration will be held accountable for resulting fatalities, according to local residents.
