Mild tension escalated into violence at a cement factory in Telangana's Suryapet district when migrant workers clashed with police. The workers were protesting for compensation after a colleague's sudden death, reportedly from a heart stroke.
The incident unfolded in Palakaveedu mandal when workers demanded support following their fellow worker's demise on Sunday evening. As police intervened, the protesters allegedly pelted stones and damaged a police vehicle.
A video aired on local TV showed workers aggressively chasing a policeman, underscoring the incident's intensity. Authorities have since pacified the situation, but the protest highlights ongoing tensions in workers' rights in the region.
