In a shocking incident that has sent ripples across the city, a laboratory attendant at AIIMS Bhubaneswar was gunned down by unknown assailants. The victim, Sudhanshu Khuntia, was attacked on his way to the hospital early on Monday morning.
Authorities have identified Khuntia, who was employed through outsourcing at AIIMS, as the deceased. Police investigations indicate he was chased by miscreants and subsequently shot near Ransinghpur. Although locals rushed him to AIIMS, he was declared dead on arrival.
The crime appears to have been rooted in a personal vendetta, as Khuntia's family has blamed his uncle's family, with whom a recent confrontation had escalated.
