In a major crackdown on illegal cannabis cultivation, Kerala police have eradicated what is believed to be the state's largest illegal cannabis plantation in the Attappady region.
The operation saw officers from the Anti-Terrorism Squad, the district anti-narcotics unit, and local police collaborate in a coordinated effort. They trekked nearly five hours through dense forests to discover the plantation at the foothills of Sathyakkallumala.
About 10,000 cannabis plants were found spread across approximately 60 cents of land. The plants were immediately destroyed on-site, and an investigation is ongoing to uncover those behind the illegal operation and their connections to wider drug networks.
