A Ukrainian man suspected of coordinating attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines in the Baltic Sea has been spared extradition to Germany for the moment, after Italy's top court on Wednesday upheld his appeal against his transfer, his lawyer said.

The man, identified only as Serhii K. under German privacy laws, was arrested in August near the Italian town of Rimini on a European warrant over explosions in 2022 that crippled the pipelines supplying Russian gas to Germany.
