Paul Ingrassia, the nominee for the U.S. Office of Special Counsel, is under scrutiny after a report by Politico revealed alarming text messages attributed to him.

In these texts, Ingrassia likened Martin Luther King Jr. Day to the "seventh circle of hell" and admitted to having a "Nazi streak." Allegedly, he also dismissed holidays celebrating Black Americans, as well as expressed controversial views about the civil rights leader.

His Senate nomination hearing has been delayed amid growing concerns about his qualifications and alleged antisemitic views. Ingrassia's lawyer claims the texts might be falsified, while inquiries to the White House and DHS about the situation remain unanswered.
