The anti-graft ombudsman Lokpal has initiated a tender for the acquisition of seven high-end BMW 3 Series 330Li models, with an estimated total cost of Rs 5 crore.

The Lokpal currently consists of a chairman and six members, just one short of its sanctioned capacity of eight. According to the tender, the organization seeks 'reputed agencies' to supply these luxury vehicles.

Specifying the acquisition of the 'M Sport' model with a 'long wheelbase' in white, the Lokpal demands comprehensive training for drivers to ensure efficient use of the vehicles. The tender outlines an obligation for vendors to conduct extensive training, encompassing both theoretical and practical sessions.

The on-road price of each car is approximately Rs 69.5 lakh in New Delhi. The vendor must also facilitate a minimum seven-day training program for drivers, covering essential aspects of vehicle handling and safety protocols. This will include classroom and on-road practical training, with an emphasis on mastering the vehicle's advanced features.

Additionally, the tender document stipulates that all costs related to the training program, including trainer fees and logistical arrangements, shall be the vendor's responsibility. The cars are required to be delivered within two to four weeks from the supply order date, with no extensions allowed.

The submission deadline for bids is November 6, and an earnest deposit of Rs 10 lakh is required. The bids are set to open the following day.
