Tragedy in Satara: Doctor's Last Call Exposes Alleged Abuse

A 28-year-old female doctor was discovered dead, an apparent suicide, inside a hotel room in Satara, Maharashtra, following allegations of rape and harassment. Prior to her death, she communicated with one of the accused, according to the police.
Her suicide note, scrawled on her palm, accused sub-inspector Gopal Badane of repeated rape and software engineer Prashant Bankar of mental harassment. The deceased lived in a property owned by Bankar's father.
The authorities suspended Badane after the investigation's revelations, registering a case for rape and abetment to suicide against him and Bankar. A relative noted the doctor faced police pressure to alter medical reports. No arrests have been made yet.
