In a tragic incident in Madarhawa village, a 60-year-old man named Shahjaram and his son Bhola Ram, also known as Deepak, drowned after their bullock cart overturned into a pond, police reported on Monday.
The mishap occurred as the pair was returning home with fodder for their cattle. The narrow road caused the cart to lose balance, leading to the unfortunate accident. Both father and son, along with two oxen, perished before the villagers could provide assistance, according to Sub-Divisional Magistrate Hemant Gupta.
Authorities have retrieved the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. Gupta confirmed that financial aid will be granted to the bereaved family following the post-mortem results.
