In a dramatic surge of violence, militants descended upon Bhag, a town in Pakistan's Balochistan province, launching an assault that left a police official dead and others injured. Armed insurgents set fire to government buildings, including a Levies station.
Senior police official confirmed that during the chaos, two militants were killed while escaping, with one body recovered by the Counter-Terrorism Department and the other taken by retreating assailants. SSP Mazur Rehman reported that around 50 militants arrived on motorbikes, targeting police and Levies personnel.
The attackers seized six prisoners from custody, igniting more government structures. The violence follows another attack on a convoy earlier that day, amplifying security concerns in the region.
