Undercover Robbers Nabbed in Dramatic Encounter

Four men impersonating auto rickshaw drivers were arrested following a police encounter. The group, known for robbing passengers at gunpoint, was apprehended after a high-speed chase and an exchange of gunfire. All suspects have criminal backgrounds, and investigations continue.

Four men, accused of committing robberies by pretending to be auto drivers, were arrested after a police encounter on Tuesday, authorities reported.

The encounter occurred in the Lohia Nagar industrial zone near Hamdard factory around 12:30 am. A police team had attempted to stop an autorickshaw during routine patrol, only for the suspects to crash into a barricade and injure two officers while fleeing.

A wireless alert led to another police team intercepting the auto. Surrounded, the suspects fired at officers, who returned fire, injuring all accused. The police retrieved four pistols and valuable stolen items, and investigations are ongoing.
