In a shocking turn of events, three individuals, including the head of an ashram dedicated to the care of the mentally challenged, were apprehended by Ernakulam police for their involvement in a brutal assault case. The victim, a 42-year-old man named Sudarshan from Alappuzha, was found with serious injuries, including to his private parts, abandoned on the roadside.

According to police reports, the arrests were made after Sudarshan was discovered in critical condition near Kodungallur Taluk hospital. An investigation revealed that the ashram's vehicle was captured on CCTV footage in the vicinity, leading to the arrest of 65-year-old Amal Francis, his adopted son Aromal (23), and accomplice Nithin (35).

The Thrissur police are delving deeper into the motive behind the attack and are determining if additional individuals might have been involved. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of Thrissur Rural SP B Krishnakumar, promising more revelations as the case unfolds.
