Gold Disappearance Scandal Rocks Sabarimala Temple Administration

Former Sabarimala temple administrative officer B Murari Babu has been remanded to judicial custody concerning the missing gold case at the hill shrine. Meanwhile, the SIT interrogated another accused, D Sudheesh Kumar, about discrepancies in gold documentation. Key documents from 1998-1999 have been traced to aid the investigation.

In a major development, a Ranni court has remanded former Sabarimala temple administrative officer, B Murari Babu, to judicial custody on charges related to the missing gold from the temple. The probe is spearheaded by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) who produced Babu before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court.

Previously, Babu was in SIT custody for interrogation, and upon his court appearance, stated he had no complaints. He is not the only official under scrutiny, as former Executive Officer D Sudheesh Kumar is also being interrogated for allegedly misrepresenting gold-plated temple items as copper sheets.

The SIT's investigation, directed by the Kerala High Court, is probing two cases of missing gold. Authorities have also recovered critical documents from 1998-1999 related to gold cladding, which may provide further insight into this high-profile scandal.
