The Naga Common Platform (NCP) on Tuesday emphatically passed three resolutions aiming for an expedited and comprehensive resolution to the protracted Naga political impasse.

During a rally orchestrated by Nagaland Gaon Buras Federation (NGBF) in collaboration with numerous apex civil society organizations at Agri Expo, Chumoukedima, the resolutions were adopted unanimously. The NCP fully supported the landmark agreements signed in 2015 and 2017 between the Government of India, NSCN (IM), and WC NNPGs. These resolutions urged the Indian government to deliver a political settlement in line with the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position, paving the way for lasting peace in Naga areas.

Shikuto Zalipu, alongside other Naga leaders, signed the resolutions. Despite tribal bodies' calls to refrain, thousands attended the rally. The Nagaland Tribal Hohos Coordination Committee (NTHCC) warned against forming parallel platforms that could threaten unity. The committee reaffirmed commitment to a unified political future for Naga people, while speakers highlighted the urgency for transparent and inclusive negotiations.
