A significant response from the Government of India is underway following a tragic accident involving Indian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia. The mishap occurred near the holy city of Madina, claiming the lives of several Indians, most of whom hailed from Telangana.
The bus, carrying over 40 Indians, collided with an oil tanker early Monday morning, reportedly causing numerous fatalities. The tragic incident occurred as the vehicle was en route from Mecca to Madina.
In coordination with Saudi authorities, a high-level delegation from India will oversee relief measures and attend the last rites of the deceased. The Indian mission is also expediting the process to identify mortal remains and arrange for the travel of grieving families.
