In a significant development in the West Bengal primary school recruitment scandal, Governor C V Ananda Bose has given the green light for prosecution under the Prevention of Corruption Act against two former officials.
The individuals involved are the West Bengal Board of Primary Education's ex-president Manik Bhattacharya, also a TMC MLA, and the organization's former secretary Ratna Chakraborty Bagchi. This decision comes after the Central Bureau of Investigation submitted a formal request to the court, citing their investigation and final report on irregularities.
The chargesheet in question was filed by the central agency in October, awaiting Raj Bhavan's mandatory approval. Both Bhattacharya and Bagchi, mentioned in the chargesheet, are facing the ramifications of the alleged misconduct.
