Tamil Nadu is bracing for Cyclone Ditwah, with Chief Minister M K Stalin reviewing preparedness efforts as the storm looms over the Bay of Bengal. The cyclone is forecasted to deliver heavy rainfall across the southern state.
A 'Red Alert' warning has been issued for the southern and Cauvery delta districts, prompting Stalin to conduct a video conference with district collectors and enforce strategic measures to mitigate damage. The government has swiftly mobilized senior officials to vulnerable areas, emphasizing around-the-clock monitoring and proactive powerline disruptions prevention.
Crisis measures include establishment of relief camps with necessary supplies and the orders for swift evacuation from low-lying zones. Cyclone Ditwah is anticipated to impact the region by November 30, with fishermen warned against venturing into the sea. Chennai, too, is predicted to experience heavy rainfall.
