Prohibitory Orders Enforced Amidst Bihar Assembly Winter Session

Prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita have been imposed by the Patna Sadar SDM to maintain law and order around the Bihar Legislative Assembly during its winter session. The measures are in response to anticipated protests that could disrupt proceedings.

The Patna Sadar Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) has taken precautionary measures by imposing prohibitory orders around the Bihar Legislative Assembly ahead of its imminent winter session. Set to convene from December 1 to 5, the assembly’s first session holds significant legislative importance.

SDM Gaurav Kumar highlighted the necessity of enacting Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita to ensure law and order. Anticipated rallies, political demonstrations, and potential protests pose a threat to the smooth conduct of the assembly’s official functions.

The restricted zone encircles key areas near the Assembly, effectively banning mass gatherings, rallies, and loudspeakers without authorization. Arms and hazardous materials are strictly prohibited to protect the safety of the assembly attendees and workers.
