A 23-year-old man, identified as Salman, allegedly committed a gruesome murder, stabbing a mentally challenged woman, Seejan, on her face and head before abandoning her body near Adarsh Nagar Railway Station. Following a wide-reaching manhunt, Salman was apprehended in Gujarat.
Police described Salman as a 'psycho killer' and utilized CCTV footage alongside a pair of slippers left at the crime scene to trace him. The investigation was triggered when the body, bearing deep knife cuts, was discovered in shrubs near the station on November 16.
The police, involved in diverse efforts to locate the suspect across regions, received a tip-off leading them to Vedach, Gujarat, where Salman was captured. He confessed to the killing during interrogation. Previously, Salman faced charges of robbery and a heinous crime involving kidnapping and raping a minor.
