The Gautam Buddh Nagar police successfully apprehended a notorious gangster embroiled in a cow slaughter case following a dramatic confrontation late on Friday night, as confirmed by officials.
According to Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone (III), Sudhir Kumar, officers from the Jarcha police station initiated a vehicle check near village Khurshidpur. Two individuals on a motorcycle prompted suspicion and attempted to flee when signaled to halt.
After chasing them down, the suspects reportedly fired at the police. In ensuing retaliation, one suspect, identified as Sajid, sustained a leg injury. He was subsequently captured, while his companion, Shahzad, managed to escape. The police retrieved several lethal items, including firearms and a device to incapacitate cattle, from Sajid. Efforts to capture the absconding Shahzad are ongoing, and Sajid is receiving medical treatment. He faces charges under ten different sections, including cow slaughter.
