In a heart-wrenching case, Maharashtra's Thane district witnessed the tragic suicide of 19-year-old Swati Chate, as police arrested multiple family members for alleged involvement in her death.
Authorities reported that Swati, who had tied the knot with policeman Prabhu Chate in April, hanged herself at their Mira Road home on November 27. According to her mother's complaint, Swati endured relentless mental and physical abuse from her husband and his family.
A senior police officer confirmed arrests, charging Prabhu, his parents, and sister under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including abetment of suicide and cruelty. Investigations are ongoing to uncover further details surrounding this tragic incident.
