Prime Minister Narendra Modi took center stage on Saturday at the annual conference of Directors General of Police (DGPs) and Inspectors General of Police (IGPs), where in-depth discussions on India's security framework unfolded, as per a government statement.
Modi underscored the importance of the police chiefs' gathering as an opportunity to share cutting-edge practices and innovative advancements in the field. Inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the event marked its 60th edition at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, featuring key figures such as NSA Ajit Doval and intelligence leaders.
The meeting, poised to close with Modi's address on Sunday, aims to assess past policing achievements and set a robust path towards a secure and developed India. Discussions focused on critical security matters, including extremism, terrorism countermeasures, narcotics, and the integration of AI in law enforcement.
