Heroic Passengers Prevent Kidnapping at Vitthalwadi Station

In a display of vigilance and bravery, passengers at Vitthalwadi railway station in Thane district of Maharashtra stopped a potential kidnapping. The incident, occurring on November 29, involved a 33-year-old man attempting to abduct three children left briefly by their mother.
Identified as Surajkumar Gupta, the accused attempted to entice the unsupervised children using chocolates. However, one child's loud cries for help alerted passing commuters, who promptly intervened, preventing the crime and detaining the suspect.
Despite efforts to convince the children to accompany him, Gupta was apprehended by responsive passengers. He was subsequently handed over to the Vitthalwadi Railway Police and charged under section 137 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita for kidnapping.
