The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, together with UN Women India, has announced a global call for nominations to contribute to a pioneering publication titled Compendium on the Real-World Impact of Artificial Intelligence in Advancing Gender Equality. This initiative forms part of a series of global engagements leading up to the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, set to take place in New Delhi.
This collaborative effort, jointly conceptualized by IndiaAI and UN Women India, aims to recognize and document verified, scalable, and outcome-driven AI solutions that are actively improving the lives of women and girls—particularly across the Global South, where such technology interventions can have transformative socio-economic effects.
The compendium seeks participation from innovators, researchers, academics, industry experts, civil society organizations, and practitioners who have deployed AI-driven solutions in areas including:
-
Healthcare and maternal well-being
-
Financial inclusion and economic empowerment
-
Climate adaptation and resilience
-
Digital safety and gender-based violence prevention
-
Education, skill development, and digital literacy
Eligible candidates are invited to submit a 250-word abstract by 15 December 2025. Successful applicants will later be requested to submit a full chapter (750–800 words), contributing to the final publication titled “Top 15 AI Solutions from the Global South.”
This compendium will serve as a strategic knowledge blueprint for governments, development institutions, and global policymakers, promoting ethical, inclusive, and gender-responsive AI deployment. It also aligns with the United Nations’ SDG 5 targets and global frameworks for responsible AI governance.
The final publication will be officially unveiled during the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled between 15–20 February 2026 in New Delhi. Selected innovators may also receive opportunities for international visibility, networking, and potential partnership with governments and industry stakeholders.
