Germany's Merz welcomes progress in Azerbaijan-Armenia peace talks

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz spoke by phone on Thursday with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, welcoming recent progress in the peace process with Armenia, a government spokesperson said.
Merz also invited Aliyev to visit Germany, he added.
