Operation De-Weed: Cleaning Up Public Spaces
Operation De-Weed is a police initiative in Ernakulam Rural District targeting public nuisances. A recent one-day drive registered 467 cases, arrested 17 people, and collected data on 510 individuals. In a determined effort to curtail public nuisances, the Ernakulam Rural Police District initiated the 'Operation De-Weed'. This one-day special drive resulted in 467 cases being registered, according to the police statement on Friday.
During the operation, 17 individuals were arrested, and information on 510 people was collected. Intensive searches took place across 127 lodges, hotels, and various accommodations.
Additionally, inspections were conducted throughout 32 bus stands, 36 migrant worker centers, and 71 labor camps. Led by District Police Chief M Hemalatha, this initiative aims at identifying and rehabilitating individuals creating public nuisances, and will continue weekly.
