In a shocking turn of events, Gorakhpur Police have arrested a suspect in the brutal double murder of a mother and daughter. The accused, identified as Rajat, was known to the victims and had used his position of trust to execute a callous crime.
Investigators revealed that Rajat, who addressed 55-year-old Vimla as 'aunt', was a frequent visitor to their home. On November 24, he allegedly offered the two women liquor, and when they were intoxicated, he attacked them with a hammer, subsequently escaping with Rs 4.5 lakh and a gold bracelet.
Under mounting financial pressure from various personal debts and lavish lifestyle spending, Rajat's behavior became suspicious. The police tracked his phone and analyzed financial transactions, leading to his arrest. During interrogation, he confessed, and authorities recovered melted gold, the stolen cash, and the murder weapon.
