Rajasthan ANTF Cracks Down on Narcotics Trafficking

The Rajasthan Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) conducted successful operations in Sikar and Bikaner, seizing substantial amounts of opium and poppy husk. Key suspects were arrested, with investigations revealing motives tied to financial distress. The operations involved sophisticated evasion tactics including changing vehicle routes and using fake number plates.

The Rajasthan Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) executed significant operations in Sikar and Bikaner districts, seizing over 20.8 kg of opium and 8.38 quintal of poppy husk, as per official statements on Saturday.

Inspector General Vikas Kumar of the ANTF revealed the opium was seized during a vehicle interception near Reengus in Sikar. The vehicle, alleged to be transporting contraband from Assam to Rajasthan, led to the arrest of three individuals: Rakesh, Rajuram, and Shankar.

The operation exposed sophisticated tactics like switching vehicle number plates from Assam to Gujarat to dodge inspections. Further investigation is ongoing, with the suspected kingpin based in Jodhpur remaining unidentified. In a separate Bikaner action, 8.38 quintal of poppy husk was seized from a truck, leading to the arrest of Surendra Kumar.
