In a tragic turn during pre-wedding celebrations, two minors lost their lives due to the unexpected discharge of a firearm at a village in Etah district. The incident unfolded Saturday night in Umai Asadnagar village, as confirmed by the police on Sunday.
The festivities were in full swing with music and dancing when gunshots rent the air. Suhail, aged 12, was killed instantly, and 17-year-old Shahkhad was gravely injured, passing away after being referred to a higher medical facility. Family members had initially rushed both boys to a community health center.
Additional Superintendent of Police Shwetambh Pandey, who visited the scene, indicated that celebratory firing might be the cause. However, the specifics would emerge only post-investigation. The police have commenced questioning attendees and taken custody of the bodies for post-mortem examinations.
