Inspector Arun Kumar Rai, stationed at Kathaund, was discovered with a fatal bullet wound to the head, initially presumed a suicide but now treated as homicide.

The police filed an FIR against Minakshi Sharma after the wife of the deceased, Mayadevi, lodged a complaint. A forensic team is examining the crime scene, with CCTV footage under review. Superintendent of Police Durgesh Kumar confirmed the ongoing investigation.
