A shack associated with the ill-fated Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Arpora has been sealed in the wake of a tragic fire that claimed 25 lives on Sunday. The shack, located at Vagator beach, was reportedly constructed illegally on government land, prompting swift action from district officials.
An FIR has been filed against nightclub owners Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. The FIR also includes charges against the club manager and event organizers. Additionally, Roshan Redkar, the sarpanch of Arpora-Nagoa panchayat, who granted a trade license in 2013, has been detained.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has responded by ordering a magisterial inquiry to ascertain the cause of the fire and ensure accountability in this tragic incident.
