Tragedy Strikes in Goa: Nightclub Inferno Claims 25 Lives

In a tragic incident this past Saturday night, a fierce fire tore through the 'Birch by Romeo Lane' nightclub in Arpora, Goa, claiming the lives of 25 individuals, including 20 staff members and 5 tourists.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire was sparked by fireworks, a factor that has now become central to the ongoing inquiry. On Monday, the state government swiftly formed a four-member magisterial committee to delve deeper into the incident's causes and assess compliance with safety regulations.

Comprising officials such as North Goa District Collector Ankit Yadav and Director of Forensic Sciences Ashutosh Apte, the committee's remit includes determining accountability and suggesting preventive measures. Meanwhile, several of the nightclub's management have been apprehended by authorities, pending further arrests.
