US aviation attorney Mike Andrews is pushing for the Indian government to release critical flight data from the deadly Air India crash in Ahmedabad on June 12. Andrews, representing over 130 families affected by the tragedy, highlights the need for transparency to help families explore legal options and bring clarity to the accident's cause.
The crash of Air India flight AI 171, a Boeing 787-8, resulted in the deaths of 241 people onboard and 19 on the ground. Vishwas Kumar Ramesh, the sole survivor, reported flickering green lights inside the plane before the crash, suggesting an emergency electrical system activation.
Andrew's insists that understanding the switch to emergency systems and possible electrical failures are crucial, as past reports documented water leakage issues affecting electrical systems on similar aircraft. As Andrews pursues Freedom of Information requests and meetings to investigate further, the call for data transparency continues.
