A 30-year-old man has been apprehended in connection with a hit-and-run incident in southwest Delhi, involving an SUV that left five female passengers injured. The incident unfolded early morning near Bhikaji Cama Place, with two victims remaining in intensive care, police sources confirmed.
The culprit, identified as Chanakya Sankla, allegedly fled the scene with his damaged vehicle. The investigation was hampered by poor lighting and unreadable plates, prompting authorities to review footage from over 600 CCTV cameras across the region. Eventually, local informants in Saket aided in narrowing down the search.
Sankla reportedly confessed to the collision, which occurred after departing from a dinner in Netaji Nagar. Following his confession, the compromised SUV was located and retrieved from a service center in Okhla the following day.
